Health Sciences Business Developer
Digicon Corporation, established in 1985, is a full-service Information Technology Integrator and Solutions Provider to both government and commercial customers. Digicon employs approximately 300 employees throughout the Washington metropolitan area, as well as several other major cities across the nation.
We are currently in search for a Health Sciences Business Developer to work at our Corporate office in Rockville, MD. This is a full-time employee position with Digicon Corporation.
Position Description:
This position is responsible for developing new business for IT services in the Federal healthcare sector, hospitals and other providers of care in the commercial sector. The ideal candidate will have proven experience selling into the Federal government and healthcare providers with an understanding of market trends and emerging technologies in the industry. Areas of responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Identifies, qualifies and closes sales opportunities leveraging a track record of selling IT consultative and value-added solutions to the Federal government, military and commercial healthcare organizations.
- Develops and delivers on sales targets in line with business growth objectives.
- Develops lead generation strategies and business plans to generate new business accounts, win contracts and further penetrate existing accounts.
- Develops a sales strategy and builds a sales pipeline and provides regular monitoring and reporting of activities to executive leadership.
- Assesses healthcare and technological trends to identify effective solutions for the company to offer.
- Conducts sales presentations, supports industry events, client consultations, and participates in the development of proposals.
- Maintains an on-going partnership with clients assessing and providing solutions to meet their needs.
- Ensures an understanding of the operational areas, services and processes of the organization to maximize his/her effectiveness in performing responsibilities.
- Supports new client start-up activities ensuring a smooth hand-off to the operations/delivery team.
Position Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years of proven experience in health IT sales.
- Possesses established client relationships with key federal healthcare decision makers in organizations such as HHS, VA, CMS, and NIH.
- History of achieving and exceeding sales quota targets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including self motivation, enthusiasm and sense of urgency.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- This position requires a broad understanding of the life-cycle of the pursuit of new business opportunities, from the identification of the opportunity, through the development of a team, to the submission of a proposal, and ultimately through the award of an opportunity and the start-up of a new effort.
