Heating Plant Operator A
Full-time Benefits Eligible Position
Middlebury College, located in Middlebury Vermont, seeks qualified and experienced Boiler Plant Operator for operation, maintenance, and oversight of 20MW campus utility plant. Plant produces high pressure steam and electricity to meet demand of 2 million square feet of connected building load. Systems include state of the art biomass gasification plant, recently installed water tube boilers consuming #6 fuel oil, 1.5MW co-generation capacity, plant wide SCADA system, and auxiliary equipment. Responsibilities of this Operator A level position include operation of all Plant systems, ensuring Air Pollution Control permit compliance, developing plant maintenance program, and potential for oversight / mentoring of Plant personnel. Plant is in production mode 24 hours / day, 365 days / year. Minimum 5 years relevant experience required. Professional licenser or equivalent preferred.
