Support Specialist - Back Office Applications

Position Purpose

In this role, you will provide production support for vendor and RBCWM applications supported by the Back Office IT Department.

Key Accountabilities

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to: provide production support for a set of the Back Office applications, both internal and vendor related.

This will be done through the following areas of accountability:

1.      Respond to production issues with appropriate level of urgency and communicate upward and escalate as needed

2.      Manage defects for assigned applications (in Peregrine, HPQC, BR-Track and on our WIKI site) making sure they are updated and closed in a timely manner

3.      Build a strong relationship with your business, operations and vendor partners

4.      Be the first point of contact for the defects for assigned applications

5.      Become the IT resident expert for assigned suite of applications

6.      Field questions from the business and other IT departments

7.      Perform impact assessments as needed

8.      Attend Broadridge Focus Group meetings and report to management any upcoming activities

9.      Own and manage applicable distribution lists

Knowledge / Experience

·         Initiative and problem solving skills to develop relationships with business partners

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, database knowledge

·         Solutions oriented and experience in working with a variety of people

·         Familiar with application development, methodology and practices, project management, and business management

Basic Qualifications

·         5+ years production support of large application

·         Must be willing to convert to employee status after 6 months on the job

·         Financial services experience; preferably brokerage experience

·         Enthusiastic; energetic personality; collaborative style

·         Detailed oriented focused on accuracy with ability to execute with sense of urgency

·         Ability to act autonomously, to recommend, negotiate and improve processes

·         Strong listening and influencing skills to foster an open, innovative, responsive, and professional team environment

·         Solid independent thinker that drives solutions given complex day-to day changes that require insight

·         Programming experience in Mainframe DB2 language a definite plus

Supplemental Qualifications

·         Cobol and/or Java development skills
