We have an immediate opportunity for a part time Help Desk Technician in our Jacksonville, North Carolina office help build the company’s Information Technology staff.  This job requires a jack of all trades, creative problem solver who is willing to work directly with users to repair and maintain their workstations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Workstation configuration and deployment
  • Workstation troubleshooting
  • Documentation of tasks performed using an on-line trouble ticketing system
  • Basic network troubleshooting
  • Remote user support
  • Basic user administration
  • Printer maintenance

Technicians may be asked to lift and transport up to 50 pounds during the course of their work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years working in an IT related capacity (help desk or systems preferred)
  • Knowledge of computer networking
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows XP Professional
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, and / or understanding of the scientific method
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • U.S. Citizenship  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience providing remote desktop support
  • Experience with Apple Mac / OSX
  • Experience with VMWare
  • Demonstrated Linux experience (CentOS / Fedora preferred)
  • Familiarity with Windows 2000 and 2003 server products
  • Knowledge of CAD and GIS applications
  • Familiarity with voice-over-IP (VOIP) technologies
