Help Desk/ Technical Services Manager

About the Job

We are currently seeking a Help Desk/Service Technician to support our growing thermal transfer, barcode printing Sales and Service operation.  This individual will perform trouble shooting of software and hardware with customers primarily over the phone.  Candidate will assist customers with systems installation and support, using our proprietary and/or third-party software applications.  Position also provides desktop support for internal co-workers.  Individual will also be responsible for preparation, testing, setup and repair of barcode printing hardware and software.  Candidate will assist the sales department by consulting with prospective and existing customers in order to determine which solutions will best meet their needs and current capabilities. Research and develop new product lines.  Individual will maintain an internal barcode printing service bureau.  Barcode printing and/or thermal printer experience is a plus but NOT required.  We will train the qualified candidate.


 


Requirements


 



  • PC/Windows experience a must, with familiarity with all recent Windows operating systems

  • Must be able to communicate with customers/end users over the phone to diagnose and solve problems.

  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as internet utilities and email, and database files and concepts.

  • Experience with Microsoft Access a definite plus

  • Must demonstrate experience supporting hardware and software applications


  • Must have excellent interpersonal & communication skills

  • Must be able to manage multiple business priorities and projects

  • Must be able to handle difficult and challenging customers and situations in a calm and patient manner in order to solve problems quickly and effectively.


  • Must understand the relationship between sales, support and customer satisfaction

  • Must be able to communicate technical concepts in a clear, easy-to-understand manner to inexperienced, non-technical users.
