Barneys New York, the world’s leading luxury retailer, is committed to providing the best of everything: merchandise, customer service, and innovative people with creative ideas. We are currently seeking a Helpdesk Operator at our office in Lyndhurst, NJ.


 


The Helpdesk Operator provides support to end users on a variety of issues, primarily in the Windows desktop/server area.  He/She identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems, and documents and monitors problems to ensure a timely resolution.


 


Responsibilities:


 



  • Answer helpdesk inquiries to resolve end-user computer issues via phone
  • Properly log call details into helpdesk system
  • Follow up with end-user to ensure completion of work requests
  • Maintain technical proficiency in all applications utilized by end-users
  • Participate in all company or IT-organized training events
  • Support Systems/Network Administrators to troubleshoot network-related issues
  • Assist in auditing and documenting hardware and software inventory

 


Qualifications:


 



  • An A+ Computer Technician certificate
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area

 


Technical skills:


         


·         Microsoft Office 2003 Suite and Outlook 2003


·         Experience with Windows 2000 and XP


·         Knowledge of Exchange and Internet Explorer


·         Basic networking skills (DHCP, DNS)


·         Systematic troubleshooting skills


·         Experienced with Helpdesk Ticketing Software
