Job Essentials:

  • Coordinate and implement tasks related primarily to end-user experiences and activities including:
    • new system builds,
    • administering and updating systems,
    • managing hardware (including desktop systems, monitors, portable systems and printers).
  • Monitor internal customer help desk ticketing system, take ownership of tickets and resolve tickets in a timely manner or escalate help desk tickets to the next support tier as appropriate.
  • Provide 1st Tier end-user support for Windows OS (Windows 7 and Windows XP), Microsoft Office Suite, document management system, and internally used software applications.
  • Configure and install hardware (VPN Appliance, VoIP Phone, Wyse Thin Client) for telecommuter employees.
  • Provide support for VoIP Phones, Blackberry smart phones and Wyse Thin Client systems.
  • Provide support for network printers, fax solution print drivers and HP plotter.
  • Securely destroy data media content prior to recycling/disposal per company policy.
  • Assist Network Administration team members as needed; perform projects and tasks as assigned by the Director of Information Technology.
  • Communicate purchasing needs to Network Administration Team to ensure hardware is available for newly-hired employees.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Network Administration team members to ensure strategic decisions complement future network and server implementation strategies, while meeting current and future business requirements.

Knowledge/Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED
  •  (1) to (2) years experience in a helpdesk technician role that utilizes a helpdesk ticketing system to track and manage end-user support requests.
  • Helpdesk, CompTIA A+ or Microsoft certification is a plus.
  • Technical Degree in a related field is preferred.
 
 
Specific Job requirements:
  • A solid understanding of Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows XP Operating System.
  • A solid understanding of Microsoft Office 2007.
  • Experience supporting end-user systems through operating life cycle (initial deployment, patch management, software upgrades, hardware & software support) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with support process standards, such as ITIL is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of basic network design (including multiple VLANs, Network Address Translation (NAT), WAN routing) and previous VoIP telephone system support experience is a plus.
