Solutia Inc., a leading manufacturer of film interlayer products, is currently accepting candidates for High Performance Chemical Operator positions at its Manufacturing Plant in Springfield, Massachusetts. This position is responsible for preparation and operation of process equipment to produce Saflex® and other chemical products.

Education Requirements:

• Either college level technical course work in math/chemistry/engineering or mechanical/electrical trade school would be a plus but is not required
• Minimum educational requirements are successful completion of high school level math and science.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required; process manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong computer aptitude, including experience with DeltaV/Provox or other DCS systems (a plus but not required)
• Class A CDL license (a plus but not required)

• Ability to work under minimal supervision in a self-directed team environment.
• Ability to work 12 hour, rotating shifts, outside in all weather conditions, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
• Flexibility in approach to tasks and openness to change.
