Companions providing daily, weekly, full-time, or part-time care from a few hours per day to around the clock.

Our services include: Staffing provided as often as needed to help with the daily activities of life and often spend most of the day in the home with the client. POSITION SUMMARY: Certified Nursing Attendant provides support and assistance with the activities of daily living for assigned clients under the supervision of the Home Health Coordinator.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Represents the company in a positive manner while creating an environment that fosters respect and courtesy for clients and other employees alike. Works within the company programs to promote safety and the well-being of all clients and employees.2. Upholds the company’s Mission Statement.3. Maintains HIPAA standards and regards all medical or healthcare information pertaining to clients and employees as confidential.4. Assists client with the activities of daily living which include but are not limited to personal hygiene, social and wellness activities, dining, safety and evacuations, bathing, dressing, mobility, and transporting.5. Observes clients and notes in the proper chart any changes, unusual occurrences or reactions to medications. Updates client charts daily.6. Takes and records vital signs as instructed.7. Changes bed linens for clients and cleans client rooms and bathrooms.8. Assists with client social and physical activities as needed. Leads (when needed or available) and participates in daily activity program with clients, client families and other employees.9. Confirms doctor appointments for clients and makes reservations for transportation.10. Serves as client companion within the home, apartment, suite, room, or while transporting to and from desired locations.11. Acknowledges and follows the Resident Bill of Rights.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Occasional travel may be required for training sessions, continuing education opportunities, emergency situations, and other company functions.2. Responsible for knowledge of all fire and safety procedures including those involving blood-borne pathogens.3. Remains in proper attire at all times and maintains a high standard of appearance.4. Maintains professional development by attending in-service and continuing education programs.5. Trains in elopement procedures.6. Performs other duties as assigned by the Home Health Coordinator or Home Health Administrator.PREREQUISITES:A. Education- High school graduation or GED required. - Certification as a Nursing Attendant required.- At least 21 years of age.B. Direct Previous Experience- Two years experience in a similar healthcare position desired.C. Skills: - Ability to work with minimal or close supervision.- Must conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality.D. Abilities:- Work indoors for the majority of the work day (fluorescent lights, HVAC system, carpeted and tile flooring, normal housing noise levels).- Climb up to two flights of stairs occasionally.- Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head. - Move objects of 40 pounds or less.- Ability to work in time-sensitive or stressful situations.- Exposed to physical/verbal abuse by certain clients under mental or physical impairment.- Exposure to needles, infections, wounds, medical equipment, and the like.- Sit in a chair / stand for extended periods.- Assist with client evacuations.
