Human Resource Generalist

About the Job

The Human Resource Generalist will perform HR related duties at the professional and administrative level in the areas of personnel policies and procedures, first level employment processes, and employment relations issues; reporting and first level investigations; benefits administration and some company policy presentations.  Responsible for adhering to and assisting in Company policies and procedures.  May exercise independent judgement in routine functions.

Overall duties and responsibilities will include 
  • Recruits, screens, interviews and may extend job offers
  • Assists in selection process to fill exempt and non-exempt positions
  • Effectively communicates HR policies, procedures and compliance issues
  • Is a resource for local management in investigations, hearings and new hire orientation
  • Provides training as needed
  • Runs routine HR reports
  • Responds to employee relations issues (complaints and violations)
  • Provides exit interviews when necessary
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Performs benefits administration during new hire process and open enrollment periods
  • Provides ongoing input, HR intranet and policies and procedures as necessary


Credentials and Qualifications will include

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business, HR or Organizational Development
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively before groups of employees of the organization at all levels
  • Ability to apply a common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral and diagram form
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in making disciplinary and termination decisions
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets, payroll systems, internet, and human resource software
  • Heavy recruiting background in a sales organization is desired
  • Knowledge of all Nevada labor laws and ADP payroll systems a plus
