Based in Vandalia, Ohio, our Industry Products Group has 3 business units focused in specific market segments: Business and Lifestyle, Power Tools and Home Appliance. We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Human Resource Generalist.


Human Resource Generalist


 


The HR Generalist will administer all company policies and procedures as they relate to Human Resources. The HR Generalist will be responsible for the following functional areas:  Employee Relations, Training and Development, Safety, and Report Generation.  The HR Generalist will also assist with the following functional areas: Benefits, Compensation, Legal Compliance and Recruitment/Selection.  The right candidate for this role will be ready to move into a more advanced supervisory role within a 6-12 month period.


 


 


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


 



  • Manages the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.
  • Handles more advanced benefits issues.
  • Responsible for streamlining numerous reporting functions as well as gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Handles complex employee disciplinary concerns. 
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.

 


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS


 



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field. Advanced Degree is a plus.
  • Must have 3 - 5 years HR experience in a manufacturing environment. See exception below
  • Strong computer knowledge and practical experience with MS Word and Excel.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills alongside excellent interpersonal skills.
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

 


*If the candidate has 5 years of manufacturing experience, but does not specifically have a HR background, he/she will be required to earn PHR Certification within 1 year of accepting the role.
