About the Job

Position Summary:


Manages and coordinates HR activities for AvMed’s North Region to include managerial coaching, employment, recruitment, career counseling, compensation administration, employee relations, as well as supporting the Human Resources department in all other HR related issues. 


Develops, implements, and maintains an aggressive recruitment program which addresses all facets of recruitment and satisfies the needs of AvMed Health Plans in a proactive manner.


Ensures that requested data material or result is completed within the assignment’s time frame.  Uses personal judgment to set priorities for all assignment/projects.  Maintains and utilizes knowledge of personnel policies and procedures and wage and salary program.  Provides information when necessary using discretion and judgment regarding confidential material.  Assists employee in their understanding of policies and procedures pertaining to benefits, compensation, and performance assessment on an individual basis or through employee orientation.  Assists employees with appropriate paperwork for leaves of absence, benefits enrollment, status changes, etc.  Facilitates communication between employees and management on issues directly affecting employee’s work lives.  Makes on-site visits to plan offices to make human resources more accessible to employees on a quarterly basis or more often if needed.  Conducts exit interviews for all terminating employees.


Manages and directs the activities of the Regional HR Staff.  Assists in the development and preparation of the annual AvMed labor budget.  Also assists in the preparation of the AvMed Human Resources Department annual operating and capital budgets.  Shows dedication to upgrading or maintaining and/or upgrading customer perception of HR by consistently displaying professionalism, competency, reliability, timeliness and courtesy.


 


QUALIFICATIONS:


·      Bachelor’s degree in a related field required


·      Minimum 4 - 6 years progressively responsible experience as a human resource generalist


·      Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local employment regulations and requirements (FLSA, EEO, Unemployment)
