Job Summary 


Assumes overall responsibly for Human Resource processes and initiatives for the company. This includes oversight for or involvement in the following functional areas: Staffing, Benefits, Compensation, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Management Reporting, and Employee Development. Position to be based in the Madison, Wisconsin office with occasional travel to the other offices as required.


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


 



  • Supervision of all staffing activities, including candidate generation, selection, and on-boarding processes.
  • Responsible for creating, implementation, and expenditures of the annual Human Resource Department budget.
  • Creates, implements, and works to department goals.
  • Liaises with external vendors to negotiate contracts for service and establish relationships on behalf of the company. This includes Benefits, Recruitment, and Staffing Agency vendor representatives.
  • Administration of all Company Benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Acts as Plan Administrator for Company 401K Program.
  • Acts as EEO/Affirmative Action Officer for the Company.
  • Along with the HR Generalist, will liaise with community contacts at universities, career centers and employment agencies, and attend at job fairs.
  • Along with the Company Controller, is responsible for the accuracy and efficiency of payroll and timekeeping processes.
  • Acts as the primary Administrator for the company timekeeping system.
  • Oversees the Company Mentoring program to ensure successful on-boarding of new employees
  • Oversees Performance Management and Appraisal activities.
  • Involved with Training Needs Assessment, Program Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation as needed. Will personally deliver training as required.
  • Undertakes Management Reporting functions regarding Human Resource data as needed.
  • Responsible for the assessment, creation and implementation of workplace policies.
  • Helps coordinate company workplace environment, recognition and reward programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience



  • 5+ years experience working full time within the Human Resources field.
  • Previous experience managing other Human Resource, Training and Payroll personnel.
  • Experience administrating coordinating payroll, managing compensation, coordinating recognition/reward programs desirable.
  • Experience within call center, service and/or collection industry environments desired.
  • Benefits Administration, Employee Relations, and Training/Performance Management experience all desirable.
  • Articulate written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to question, resolve conflict, handle objections and respond to requests for information.
  • Personal Computing skills, including ADP, ADP’s ezLabor, MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Powerpoint, MS-Outlook, Internet, and keyboarding. Ability to use multi-line phone system.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong organization skills. The ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • PHR/SPHR Certification. Additional vocational training/certification in Human Resources desirable.
  • A 4-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required.
