ORBIS Corporation (www.orbiscorporation.com) is a leader in the returnable packaging industry. We are seeking a Human Resource Manager for plastic injection molding facility in Monticello, Iowa. There we manufacture plastic returnable, reusable containers for general distribution markets.
The HR Manager guides, manages and improves Human Resources services, policies, and programs within a multi-cultural, organized, manufacturing site that includes one plant with a remote warehouse, with approximately 100 employees. This focus is on broad generalist duties, including recruitment and staffing, orientation, development and training, safety, performance management, payroll, regulatory compliance, limited benefits administration, and employee, union, and community relations. He/she reports directly to the Plant Manager, with a dotted line to the VP of HR for the corporation, and has one direct report for this position; a Process Coach.
Job Responsibilities: - Manage the Human Resources department and personnel
- Ensure compliant administration of the local safety program
- Plan, direct, and conduct training activities that anticipate or respond to business needs
- Staff the organization with capable employees, and adjust the staffing level as business needs fluctuate
- Administer labor relations including contract interpretation, negotiations, and grievance processing
- Monitor and maintain regulatory compliance
- Provide accurate, responsive and efficient HR consultation to the organization
- Create and foster a positive work environment

Job Qualifications: - Education: BS/BA in HR or related field required; MA/MS in HR or related field desired
- Experience: 5 years of progressively more responsible and supervisory HR experience required; 5 - 10 years preferred. Experience gained in an ISO certified manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Prior union experience a distinct plus.
- Certification: PHR/SPHR desired
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated leadership, functional expertise, excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills, entrepreneurial mindset, proficient in Microsoft Office suite
