Human Resources professional responsible for driving business unit / human resources and safety initiatives encompassing multiple plant locations. This position will partner with business unit leaders to proactively provide solutions to business issues and the attainment of goals and objectives within the assigned business unit, as it relates to operating, human resources and labor best practices and policies as appropriate. In addition, this position executes HR and business initiatives at the facility level including, but not limited to, driving performance management and talent review process¿, employee and labor relations, capacity/headcount management, safety case management, and workforce development and planning. Position reports to a Regional Employee Relations Manager. Ensure consistency in HR principles, practices and policies among business unit (BU). Assist BU management in finding, attracting, training and retaining the right talent to run the business. Communicate and ensure understanding by employees of laws, regulations, and organizational policies and answer questions by managers and employees as needed. Partners with labor relations team on labor relations activities, including collective bargaining, contract administration, grievance responses, arbitration preparation, negotiation preparation, and strike contingency planning. Ensures timely and accurate on-boarding activities and requirements for all new or transferring employees. Advise and counsel plant and management teams on employee and labor matters including contract application and interpretation, grievance handling, attendance programs, drug testing policy, etc. Responsible for ensuring performance management process including performance evaluations & employee development plans are done effectively and on-time in assigned plants. Works closely with BU management in complying with commitments to headcount and capacity planning initiatives. Partner with Regional Safety Managers in driving implementation of safety programs, including participation in safety committees, training compliance and case management. Drives diversity initiatives within assigned BU to promote the hiring and retention of a qualified and diverse workforce. Provides administrative expertise and understanding; interfaces between employee and Shared Services Center as needed. Responsible for safety case management and related reporting. Leads change processes for facilities within assigned BU as directed by leadership. Bachelor¿s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience PHR/SPHR preferred but not required.
