Purdue University is actively seeking a Human Resource Specialist to provide HR support to the central IT organization (ITaP) with an emphasis on training and organizational development. This position will analyze, design, develop, implement & evaluate effective training & development programs. This includes facilitating training and working collaboratively with other training & development professionals, schools, colleges and vendors. The programs include but are not limited to onboarding (new hire orientation), leadership development, management training, performance management etc. Establish, manage and communicate applicable metrics. Participate on special projects and other HR initiatives as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
· BA/BS and at least two years of experience in one or more of the following areas is required: human resources, training & development, program coordination/outreach, teaching. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.
· Must be self-motivated, hard working, resourceful, and passionate, with determination to succeed.
· Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders; a demonstrated ability to successfully organize & lead complex projects; a demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate people and resources; well-developed problem solving skills and the ability to grasp and implement solutions to complex challenges; effective consulting, presentation, collaboration, and time-management skills.
· Ability to maintain professional demeanor under pressure and to communicate and negotiate effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
· PHR/SPHR certification or the ability to become certified within one year.
Preferred requirements:
· Experience working with IT professionals and previous experience facilitating management training and/or leadership development programs.
· Active membership in a professional organization (Society for Human Resource Management, American Society for Training & Development, Organizational Development Network, International Society for Performance Improvement etc.)
