This position performs detailed quantitative analysis required for the operation and strategic planning of the Company, including but not limited to payroll tax record keeping and quarterly reporting, ad-hoc reporting, Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment management as well as on going maintenance of compliance, policies, procedures, and plans in order to be responsive to the company’s goals and competitive practices. Additionally, this position is required to have a technical skill set that will allow for easy access to information within the systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

•Monitors the quarterly reporting by outsourced tax service of state/local/municipal withholding, Unemployment, and Workers’ Compensation, and the maintenance of federal, state and local payroll tax accounts. •Ensures outsourced tax service is kept abreast of changing rates, deposit frequency changes, changes of coverage, as well as changes to federal, state, and local compensation laws in order to ensure Company compliance. •Provides the data for the completion of the monthly insurance billings and maintains property insurance filings. •Develops and distributes monthly reports and key indicators, researches variances and identifies trends. •Prepares and develops ad-hoc reports as requested and interprets Human Resources related statistics, develops written recommendations based on analysis. •Partners with functional directors and managers to provide relevant, timely and accurate analysis to enable superior decision making. •May serve as project lead for specific initiatives, including automating reporting. •Develops and maintains communication in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers by: oCommunicating openly, honestly and constructively oTreating all employees and customers with courtesy, dignity, and respect oTaking responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns oAsking for information needed to perform job responsibilities oComplying with all Employee Handbook and company procedures oOther duties and projects as needed to support the team
Knowledge and Skills:
•Minimum 2 + years of progressive hands-on experience compiling and analyzing data, trend and variance analysis, and providing recommendation •Experience in multi-state payroll tax record keeping and quarterly reporting •Demonstrated outstanding analytical skills •Requires extensive practical knowledge in a wide range of compensation techniques and methods including compliance with government regulations •Proficient in COGNOS database query and reporting, or similar software •Database skills including ability to identify appropriate database to ensure accurate reporting, querying, and report writing •Experience with ULTIPRO HRIS preferred •Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required. •Intermediate word processing software knowledge •Strong mathematical aptitude •Strong communication skills, both written and oral •Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time •Ability to interact with all levels of the company and foster teamwork •Ability to work in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision •Outstanding verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills •Ability to maintain the high confidential nature and trust associated with human resources ethical standards
Education:
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or finance related field and two (2) to four (4) years of demonstrated analysis experience, OR •Five (5) years of experience in multi-state payroll tax record keeping and reporting, OR •Any similar combination of education and experience •Professional certification such as CCP, PHR, SPHR, CEBS or equivalent desired but not required
