Human Resources Assistant

- Maintains KRONOS timekeeping system and ensures that timecards are approved for payroll processing by corporate office.
- Maintains knowledge of legal updates and changing laws – both Federal and State.
- Spends at least 6 hours per week on various shifts on production floor addressing employee concerns.
- Maintains and forwards adjustment spreadsheet to payroll contact for payroll processing by corporate office.
- Monitors and distributes weekly progression increases.
- Maintains personnel data (evaluations, address information, vacation accruals etc.) on hourly, nonexempt employees in appropriate software systems for payroll and Human Resources required items.
- Works with HR-related issues to include but not limited to, hiring, attendance, job bids, FMLA, FLSA, COBRA, HIPPA.
- Processes new hire paperwork.
- Assists employees with questions, concerns and problems regarding insurance benefits, policies, etc.
- Maintains employee personnel and confidential files and maintains strict confidentiality of all records and information.
- Ability to interpret, explain and apply employment laws, compensation rules and company policies and guidelines.
- Interacts with all levels of management and supervision daily and communicates team concerns/issues.
- Tracks attendance records and generates corrective actions as necessary with regard to attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Requires a 2 year or 4 year degree; PHR/SPHR preferred
- Microsoft office required.
- Working knowledge of Excel a must.
- Working knowledge of payroll a plus.
- Minimum 4-6 years experience in Human Resources.
- Core competencies include excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills a must.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
- Strong active listening skills and interpersonal skills are required.
