Web Data Analyst

About the Job

Journal Interactive is seeking a Web Analytics professional to support the web analytics needs of our websites. You will leverage behavioral data to provide input into the web channel's strategic and operational decisions.

• Analyzing web usage data to derive deeper learnings and insights about the site experience and the web users.
• Creating holistic dashboards / reports and analysis from varied data sources for presentation to the Web and Business management teams.
• Leading and driving insights from data to suggest and or create improvements / efficiencies to our web sites.
• Incorporating industry standard web analytics best practices and methodologies (e.g., testing and behavioral targeting) into the Web operations.
• Work with the technology team to identify gaps in the data capture strategy and collaboratively implement enhancements.


Requirements

• 2-5 years experience in a similar role utilizing an industry standard web analytics toolset (Omniture and Google Analytics experience is desired).
• Proven experience mining web behavioral data with the purpose of decision support and identifying opportunities for the web channel.
• Possess a strong penchant for understanding cause and effect.
• Proficient database skills (e.g, query, SQL).
• Proficient in statistical methods / tools to leverage statistics in analysis.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a cross functional team.
• Comfortable working with ambiguous concepts / direction and distilling them into sound deliverables.
• Effective and persuasive communications (verbal and written).
• Flexible and able to multitask, switch priorities as needed within a collaborative environment.
