About the Job

Loeb & Troper LLP is a mid-sized CPA and consulting firm located in midtown Manhattan.  We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to work in our fast-paced environment. 


 


The key to success in this role is scheduling auditors on client engagements.  This involves significant face-to-face negotiations and other communications with partners and staff.  The ability to force a square peg into a round hole and make it work is key.  Successfully handling all personalities in a pressured environment also is key.


 


Other responsibilities include:


 


·         Full cycle recruiting for all positions (audit, healthcare consulting and administration) especially entry-level auditors.  This includes resume review, on-campus, in-house interviewing, Career Nights, reviewing/recommending offers.


·         Coordinating the annual performance evaluation function.  Working with partners and supervisory personnel to ensure that evaluations are completed timely and accurately; resolving differences; scheduling and attending evaluation meetings.


·         Employee relations on any and all issues.


·         Counseling employees on professional development and performance matters.


·         Maintaining employment metrics including for EEOC as well as internal use.


·         Employee benefits-communicate all aspects of benefits to employees; work with outside brokers, carriers and 401(k) provider.


·         Compensation program-increases, benefits, awareness of market.


·         Supervise HR Generalist.


·         Reports to COO; frequent communications with Senior Partners.


 


The ideal candidate will have:


 


·         Work experience in a professional services or related firm, preferably a CPA firm.


·         Experience with audit staffing is a STRONG PLUS.


·         The ability to multitask.


·         Work with various personalities.


·         Strong communications skills and the ability/desire to be persuasive.


·         Strong organizational skills
