We are seeking a qualified Plant Human Resources Generalist/Supervisor and Health & Safety Administrator to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Streator, IL.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Plant Human Resources / Health & Safety Administrator is responsible for planning, coordination, and administration of the plant human resources programs; the health & safety, and workers’ compensation programs; and the hourly plant payroll processing. Provides support to the operations in the following areas of Human Resources: employee & labor relations, staffing and recruiting, benefits administration, affirmative action administration, training and development, wage & salary administration, and employee activities.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Ensures compliance with the unionized labor agreements at the plant level.
2. Administers and coordinates the grievance process at the plant level including all record-keeping.
3. Develop and maintain productive labor and employee relations at the plant.
4. Responsible for the hiring process for all hourly and salary positions at the plant from sourcing to on-boarding.
5. Maintains all record-keeping associated with all employment processes, including all information relating to Affirmative Action Plans, internal posting, job bidding and layoff, and apprenticeship programs.
6. Assists in the coordination and administration of various benefit programs including disability management, FMLA, retirement services and others.
7. Responsible for all record-keeping regarding wage and salary administration at the plant level.
8. Depending on the location of the assignment, may also be responsible for the daily / weekly administration and all other duties associated with the processing of the hourly weekly payroll function.
9. If not responsible for the weekly hourly payroll processing function above, may then be responsible for the administration and coordination of the plant health and safety programs including :
- coordination of the plant accident and investigation program, including the maintenance of required OSHA reports.
- serving as the leader of plant safety committees and teams, including follow-up to ensure implementation of corrective actions.
- coordination of mandated employee health and safety training programs such as hazard communication training, annual hearing conservation training, etc.
- the issuance of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and respirators. Position Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree required
2. Extensive experience with labor and employee relations, employment processes (staffing & recruiting), and training & organizational development
3. Experience in the administration of benefit plans, retirement, FMLA, payroll, and plant health & safety procedures
4. Proficient with MS Office
