West, a Thomson Reuters business is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager in the Eagan, MN office to manage and coordinate all Human Resources activities for the Finance and Communications organizations.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Works closely with assigned business unit staff to provide strategic HR support and to assist them in reaching core business goals.

  • Provide HR expertise and counsel on recruiting and retention issues.

  • Identifies staffing requirements based on organizational goals and objectives and coordinates to ensure the most efficient, economical processes are utilized to secure top talent.

  • Responsibilities include working with recruiting team on interviewing, selection and placement of employees. Identify alternative recruitment sources and proactively recruit diverse candidates.

  • Conducts need assessment of staff competency against organizational profile to determine training and organizational effectiveness initiatives. Develops training programs in response to the evaluation.

  • Provides training and facilitates as appropriate, for managers and employees in the business units in support of business objectives, corporate programs and individual development plans.

  • Counsel's managers to improve employee performance by utilizing proper coaching techniques. Provides guidance and support in administering human resources policies and procedures to ensure that employees receive fair and reasonable treatment to establish a supportive work environment and to avoid potential legal liabilities.

  • Approves all employment actions to ensure consistency, proper documentation, and due process. Addresses and resolves employee relations concerns in a timely and responsive manner.

  • Provides counsel and guidance to managers regarding disciplinary procedures and coordinates the implementation of these in a consistent manners respectful of inappropriate behavior. Consults with legal counsel as necessary.

  • In conjunction with Corporate Compensation and assigned business units, works to ensure positions and job description are updated, evaluated, and market priced on a consistent basis. Communicates the end results and outcomes to the appropriate business unit personnel

  • Research, recommend, and implements new compensation systems in conjunction with Corporate Compensation. Develops alternative recognition and/or incentive plans and gains approval and support of business unit and Corporate Compensation.

  • Works on a variety of special projects to develop and implementation HR initiatives, policies and programs.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

  • Manage and coordinate performance management and salary planning and administration process.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of eight years of human resources generalist experience including recruitment, compensation, employment law, and employee relations.

  • B.S. degree in Human Resources or related area; M.S. or MBA degree preferred

  • Demonstrated expertise in recruitment, staffing, employee relations, compensation, and staff development and organizational effectiveness.

  • Proven experience in assessing and implementing HR systems, including performance management, succession planning, 360 feedback, employee surveys

  • Proven platform and facilitation skills

  • Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Proven ability to build relationships with, and influence all levels within an organization.

  • Experience in working within fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multi-cultural business environment.

  • Proven oral and written communication abilities: demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues.

  • Strong PC skills including MS Office: Peoplesoft HRIS experience preferred.

  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary.
