Position Description: Work with Mira Loma Distribution Center business partners to align human resources strategy and programs with the business strategy which support sales growth, productivity levels and customer service. • Participate in development of operations strategy and align human resource strategy to achieve optimal levels of performance. • Hands on position supporting non exempt work force • Assess needs on an ongoing basis and facilitate or develop programs which result in improved human resource performance. • Drive change management discipline with business leaders on key initiatives. • Manage employee relations practices necessary to maintain positive employee – employer relationship. Apply policies and programs to support positive employee relations and maintain legal compliance. • Anticipate legal exposures, potential legal actions such as harassment, discrimination, wrongful discharge, unfair treatment, Workers Compensation, and accommodation. Ensure proper application of employment laws and regulations. • Educate managers/supervisors and drive application of the performance management process and provisions. Facilitate and ensure strong success plans in place for key roles within organization. Implement performance management tools within distribution center. Coach Managers and employees to fully utilize performance feedback to improve business results. • Facilitate the development of organizational structure and job design based on work processes. Assist compensation in job analysis and provide support to the job evaluation process. • Provide experience/expertise in all areas of human capital such as employee commitment, employee development, employee recognition, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation management, employee assistance, affirmative action and training and development. • Participate in the development of safety/health/wellness activities. Assist line managers’ and supervisors in resolving issues related to workers compensation. • Highlight the importance of communication and assist managers by developing methods to share information with employees on business issues. • Coach Senior Leadership through first line supervisors on leadership skills and application as well as career development for employees and themselves. • Manage/Direct the activities of one exempt level HR Generalist.
Position Requirements: BA, BS – preferred emphasis in Human Resources Management or related business experience. • Five to seven years progressive human resource management experience with strong background in employment and selection, training, organizational development, compensation, affirmative action, workers compensation, employee relations and employment law. • Analytical ability and business judgment by which cause and effect are understood, situations are accurately assessed and actions anticipated. • Effectively prioritizes and manages multiple business partner needs and projects. Proven ability to multi-task in fast paced work environment. • Strong interpersonal communication, persuasion and creative problem solving skills are required. Possess strong assessment and decision making skills. Outstanding ability to influence and build relationships within all levels of the organization and externally. • Strong communication skills in one on one, small group or large group settings. • Ability to work with a diverse workforce and cross functional to build strong internal partner relationships. • Proficient in Microsoft office and associated applications. • 0 – 20% travel time required.
