About the Job

Murata Electronics North America, Inc., a leading international electronic component sales organization, is seeking a Human Resources Manager at our headquarters located in Smyrna, Georgia.  This is a great OPPORTUNITY to join an exciting company and to become a part of a winning team!


 


The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for managing all aspects of Human Resources.


 


Primary Duties/Essential Functions include but are not limited to:


*  Provides the overall strategic and tactical HR leadership for Murata. Oversees the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs and services, including recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee benefits, employee relations, employment practices and procedures, employee communications and employee events.


*    Serves as an internal consultant to company management team, supervisors and employees on personnel issues that affect performance and business relationships.


*    Selects, develops, evaluates and leads a team of human resource professionals with a goal of earning a high level of credibility as an effective and responsive internal consulting group.


*    Foster a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by the leadership of Murata.


*    Provide leadership in the critical area of recruitment by developing the most creative and cost-effective ways of generating high-quality candidates in the marketplace to Murata. Develop long-term relationships with organizations and individuals that will enhance the talent pipeline flow for the company. Working with position supervisors and internal and external recruiters, recruit, interview and recommend qualified employee candidates who can best contribute to the success and growth of Murata.


*    Responsible for advising management to ensure Murata compliance with all federal, state and local laws related to employee benefits, compensation, employment and training. Remain current with changes in human resource and employment law and manage company relationships with state and local regulatory agencies.


*    Serve as internal consultant to managers and advisor/mediator in employee situations in which discipline is the joint responsibility of Human Resources and the employee’s supervisor.


*    Advise management regarding all employee terminations; oversee all aspects of employee terminations.


*    Develop a highly effective orientation program that emphasizes the critical importance and value of welcoming and integrating new employees into Murata’s culture (with emphasis on corporate mission and Murata policies). Coordinate job training with position supervisor to ensure beneficial starting experience for new employees.


*    Responsible for wage and salary administration, with particular emphasis on compliance with annual salary budget.


*    Oversee personnel record keeping related to new hires, employee reviews, promotions, transfers, separations and exit interviews.


*    Conduct job analyses to establish the specific requirements of individual jobs within each department for the creation and oversight of job descriptions.


*    Actively participate in professional and community organizations for the benefit of Murata and the employee’s own professional development.

*    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


*    Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality.


*    Ability to use PC and widely used software packages, e.g., spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (MS Word), HRIS/database.


*    Must have experience in conducting and supervising training and development programs for employees.


Education & Training



  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology or Business Administration and five years of experience in human resources or a related field. A MBA or Masters degree in Human Resources and/or professional certification by the Society for Human Resources Management preferred.

 


Travel Required:  Infrequently
