This is an exciting opportunity to work as a member of the dressbarn Human Resources Team at the Store Support Center (SSC) in Suffern, NY. The HR Manager partners with his/her client(s) to understand strategies, analyze business needs, and develop and/or promote HR initiatives to advance the strategic goals of the business. In this role, you will perform as a generalist and have responsibilities including:
- Provide effective coaching and counseling and resolution of HR issues and ensure fair and consistent practices in the organization. Provide direction to management on resolving issues and building a high performing team. Coach management on techniques for handling sensitive associate issues. Provide effective coaching, counseling and progressive disciplinary strategies on all AR issues, up to and including terminations.
- Manage implementation, administration and operation of functional Human Resources services. Provide service and results as it pertains to HR core functional knowledge of associate relations, recruitment, performance management, compensation, benefits, and training and development. Develop strategies and tactics to address performance problems and opportunities in the organization. Drive compensation solutions.
- Partner with business to develop broad recruitment strategies. Coach managers on interviewing techniques. Initiate succession planning. On-Board new hires. Coach and develop associates.
- Talent Development: Manage performance management and merit review cycle. Drive talent review and succession planning.
- Program planning: Analyze existing programs and processes. Benchmark best practices and make recommendations. Implement new ideas and create opportunities to educate the field.
Successful candidates will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of HR generalist experience. Previous retail experience preferred.
