CP Kelco, a J. M. Huber company and a leading global producer of specialty ingredients used in food, pharmaceutical and consumer products has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Manager who will report to the Plant Manager for San Diego. They will also be part of the overall corporate team and have a dotted line connection into corporate. This person will be responsible for human resource activities for the manufacturing facility\plant (union), pilot plant and R&D center. Specifically, this person will handle such human resources activities such as; counseling plant management and employees on employee relations, staffing and compensation issues; identify and assess candidates and extend offers of employment; succession planning; administer compensation and benefit programs; conduct/coordinate employee training for corporate programs and benefits; ensure compliance with all Federal and State employment laws and Company policies and manage HRIS projects to include performance management and leadership development. They will assist in the handling of any negotiations with the union/labor relations, as needed. The plant size is under 200 people and is located in town near the bridge.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management or similar discipline; 8 to 10 + years  human resources in manufacturing/industrial environment(manufacturing  human resources experience in California-CA Employment law a must) Needs to have labor relations experience in a union environment (preferably dealing with unions in manufacturing environment) Experience dealing with negotiations, etc. Hands on roll up your sleeves attitude, superior verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization; high proficiency in MS Word, Excel and HRIS systems (preferably PeopleSoft) and thorough knowledge of California labor law and legal requirements. Some experience with R&D or technology background helpful. Human Resources certification a plus.
