Maine Plastics, a leader in plastic
recycling operations, is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources
professional to be a part of its management team. This position will
direct, coordinate, and implement human resources activities such as
employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee
services.
Responsibilities:
- Directs and leads recruiting and staffing efforts
- Develops and coordinates performance management and
improvement systems - Identifies training needs and develops training &
development programs - Provides resolution to employee relations issues
- Administers benefits, compensation, and workman’s
compensation programs - Develops and administers personnel policies and
procedures including employment, safety, health & welfare programs - Monitors unemployment activity and unemployment rate
- Oversees the payroll function
- Creates and monitors the Human Resources Budget
- Directs the organization in attaining and maintaining
regulatory compliance Works with Management
to prepare personnel forecast and project employment needs for core and
temporary employment - Develops directives advising department managers of
company policy regarding employment law, equal employment opportunities,
compensation, regulatory compliance and employee benefits - Ensures that policies comply with federal and state law
- Handles and resolves all internal and external employee
complaints - As a member of the management team provides advice and
assistance to department heads and supervisors in all areas of human
resources management and attends Management meetings as required
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience with all
facets of Human Resources (recruiting, employee relations, benefits &
compensation, worker's comp, safety, and payroll) - Bachelor's Degree and/or Human Resources Certification
- Must possess strong communication skills, excellent
people skills, and problem-solving ability, and good judgment - Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
