The Role

The Human Resources team at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers has an opportunity for a Benefits Specialist at our U.S. headquarters in Lincoln, Nebraska. Reporting to the Supervisor, Payroll and Benefits, you will be the ‘go to’ person for everything to do with our U.S. based employee group’s benefit programs.

The Key  Responsibilities:

 

·        Enroll all new employees in applicable benefit programs.

·        Maintain the employee changes in applicable benefit programs.

·        Ensure the content of our internal Benefits & Compensation information is accurate.

·        Issue Benefits & Compensation Booklet to new employees and be the contact for any questions.

·        On-going involvement in Benefit recommendations for improvements, changes.

·        Conduct information sessions for employees on the benefits plans.

·        Work with Recruiting to create Marketing materials.

·        Reconcile Benefit accounts.

·        Ensure all benefit processes are documented and updated when necessary.

 

 

 

The Requirements

 

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years benefits administration experience, preferably in a company that did business in multiple states. 
  • A diploma, associate degree or degree in business administration or a related discipline is preferred but equivalent work experience will substitute.
  • Working knowledge and previous experience with FMLA.
  • Previous experience with flexible spending accounts, 401(k), employee insurance administration preferred.
  • Intermediate Excel and Word skills are a requirement.
  • Basic accounting knowledge and strong aptitude for numbers and systems.
  • Effective verbal and written English skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Independent and self-motivated worker.
  • Superior organizational skills; attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively and work to tight deadlines in a high-paced environment.
  • Experience with Oracle financials and HRMS an asset.
  • A solid work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job!
