Human Resources Specialist (Bilingual)

About the Job

Summary Compiles and maintains personnel records for designated facility by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Maintains the Human Resources information system (HRIS). Enters new employees and removes terminated employees from the HRIS. Maintains employee files and other related records. Follows proper procedures to ensure the protection of confidential information.

·        Records employee information such as personal data, compensation, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason.

·        Maintains all hourly personnel files including I-9’s and worker’s compensation.

  • Responds to all unemployment claims in a timely manner 
  • Distributes paychecks weekly/biweekly.

·        Processes employment applications and ensures staffing needs are met at facility level.  Screens potential employees for open positions.  Conducts new hire orientations.

·        Prepares and files reports of accidents and injuries at facility level.  Maintains OSHA logs.

·        Administers union enrollments, union dues and maintains union communications.

·        Processes Motor Vehicle Reports and completes Department of Transportation scorecards.

·        Manages timesheets for all employees at the facility, ensuring accurate and timely hour reporting.

  • Provides general administrative support to the HR department and to management.

·        Provides various reports to management and the HR department.

  • Administers child support and other court-ordered wage deductions and tax garnishments.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

Education and/or Experience
