Human Resources Supervisor
About the Job
The Human Resources Supervisor serves as a Generalist in the areas of diversity, employee relations, training and development, staffing, performance management, organization development and design, benefits, compensation, communication, and legal issues and as the direct Supervisor for the Human Resources Staff. The Supervisor acts as a business partner to the management staff in the distribution and logistics organizations and develops, interprets and communicates Human Resources policies and procedures to all associates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures all Human Resources functions, practices, policies & procedures reflect, encourage & recognize diversity, & are in alignment w/ Avon values.
- Establishes and develops proactive communication channels between individuals and groups. Ensures consistency in communications delivered to the facility.
- Ensures consistency in areas such as the application of Avon policy and procedure identifies, counsels, & provides recommendations/feedback to employees & management on possible/current employee/management issues, performance, and team dynamics. Provides benefit guidance to associates when appropriate.
- Supervises the Human Resources staff in daily activities to ensure Human Resources administrative functions are executed efficiently.
- Develops, conducts & implements training for all associates, including management.
- Develops appropriate staffing & retention goals, strategies, & activities to achieve business results
- Ensures compliance with federal & state law, as well as Avon policy & procedures, in areas including FLSA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, FMLA, OSHA, workplace violence, & substance abuse.
- Partners with other departments/locations on projects as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree Required, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
- PHR Certification preferred
- Minimum 4-6 years Human Resources Generalist experience needed with 1-3 yrs. supervisory experience
- Exposure to a distribution and logistics experience preferred
- Must have demonstrated effective, frequent, independent judgment on complex situations
- Proven experience communicating with all levels of the organization and clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing to effectively handle sensitive issues and facilitate critical interactions
