- Perform tasks in support of the systems development of hydraulic power generation and utility actuation systems for cutting edge fixed wing aircraft and rotorcraft platforms. Responsible for the design, sizing, analyses and test of hydraulic circuit(s), preparation and attendance of review meetings, and support of other tasks as required. Coordinates technical communication between Client, customer and supplier teams.
- Establish appropriate flow-down of aircraft requirements to system level. Understand system specifications, layouts and functions and the interfaces to other (consumer) systems.
- Assist in review and refinement of system specification(s).
- Determine component sizing and develop component specifications using customer data and/or own analyses.
- Participate in system and components development process by identifying potential weak points, and develop solutions based on engineering judgment, inputs from client experts, customer, suppliers and other systems partners.
- Develop or use existing MS Excel based tools for quick system analyses i.e. thermal, pressure drop, flow.
- Define and coordinate system level analyses with client’s Analysis group.
- Assist in meetings with the customer and other systems partners, distribute results to the development team and coordinate actions as necessary.
- Prepare system documents, e.g. description notes, analysis reports, certification reports etc.
- Ensure information flow within the Client Systems team and with other Client plants to facilitate work flow, efficiency and quality of work results delivered to the customer.
- Participate in development of test and certification concepts for the system program.
- Essential SW and specialty skills: MS Office, Visio, MS Project, misc. PDM, basic CM, WebEx, Virtual Collaboration tools, Requirements Management
The ability to fully understand how each and every component and the hydraulic system work, and who can analyze/calculate the components and system to derive the solutions or define missing requirements
