Hyperion Application Engineer

Use Your Hyperion Experience to Work with the Best!

Industry leader is seeking an Hyperion Application Engineer who will be responsible for providing high quality financial system administering and maintaining the Hyperion Planning applications and interfaces. As part of a fast pace organization, this position requires to work closely with the Media Group corporate and field Accounting/Finance Teams. The candidate is expected to be a self-starter and team player, have a strong drive for results and continuous improvement. Resolve complex technical issues in accordance with defined service level agreements. Lead development team activities. Refine migration procedures to ensure consistent migration process. Install Hyperion software/software patches. Maintain version control process and procedures. Record and update performance statistics. Work with Sys Admin and DBAs to conduct regular file system and database backups, archiving and purging. Enforce appropriate levels of access security. Work with DBA to develop backup/recovery strategy, ensure backups are made, and test recovery process. Monitor/tune system performance. Ensure that the applications perform with operational bounds on a consistent basis. Perform system changes and problem resolution. Required skills: Application Serve, Hyperion - System 9, Windows Administration, SQL Server, OLAP, Essbase, Financial Reporting, Web Analytics, SQL, Data Modeling. Required Experience
  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or Science preferred (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Functional understanding of financial processes
  • Proven ability to deliver business performance management solutions
  • Minimum of five years in experience with the following: Administration of Application Server (WebLogic, JRun, WebSphere), administration of Hyperion environment (Essbase, Reports, Planning, HAL), Windows 2000/2003 administration, and SQL Server and OLAP reporting tools administration/support
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion System 9
  • Planning including HAL and AAS

  • Ability to work independently, within in a project team setting, and across internal departments to complete projects within time and budget
