Hyperion Planning – Application Engineer
Job
Description
The Hyperion Application Engineer who
will be responsible for providing high quality financial system administering
and maintaining the Hyperion Planning applications and interfaces. As part of a
fast pace organization, this position requires to work closely with the Cox
Media Group corporate and field Accounting / Finance teams. The candidate is
expected to be a self-starter and team player, have a strong drive for results
and continuous improvement. Supports
approx. 100 users.
Responsibilities
·
Resolve complex
technical issues in accordance with defined service level agreements
·
Lead development
team activities
·
Consistently
refine migration procedures to ensure consistent migration process
·
Installing
Hyperion software/software patches, documenting install procedures and
coordinating resources when needed
·
Maintain version
control process and procedures
·
Record and update
performance statistics
·
Work with Sys
Admin and DBAs to conduct regular file system and database backups, archiving
and purging
·
Enforce
appropriate levels of access security
·
Work with DBA to
develop backup/recovery strategy; ensure backups are made; and test recovery
process
·
Monitor and tune
system performance, including third-party software such as JRun and WebLogic
middleware
·
Ensure that the
applications perform with operational bounds on a consistent basis
·
Perform system
changes and problem resolution
Key Objectives
·
Obtain knowledge
of and proficiency in the business applications being implemented by current
Hyperion project teams within 90 days of hire
·
Able to adhere to
documented SLAs within 30 days of hire
·
Coordinate
ongoing operations schedule with internal development and support groups within
45 days of hire
·
Demonstrate
ability to execute and monitor all Hyperion application processes according to
documented specifications within 90 days of hire
Qualifications
·
Bachelors of
Science in Computer Science or science preferred (or equivalent industry experience)
·
Functional
understanding of financial processes
·
Proven ability to
deliver business performance management solutions
·
Minimum of five
years in experience with the following:
·
Administration of
Application Server (Web Logic, JRun, Web Sphere)
·
Administration of
Hyperion environment (Essbase, Reports, Planning, HAL)
·
Windows 2000/2003
administration
·
SQL server and
OLAP reporting tools administration/support
·
Working knowledge
of Hyperion System 9
·
Planning
including HAL & AAS
·

·
Strong
understanding of standard systems administration practices
