Client located in the state of Mississippi has an immediate need for an I&C/Electrical Technician with a minimum of 4 years of power plant experience. Client highly prefers candidates with combined-cycle power plant experience, combustion turbine experience, GE Mark VI Control Systems, and Emerson Ovation Control Systems experience. Client is looking for an individual who has a solid education or training on instrumentation and controls equipment or Navy experience. Responsibilities - Remove, install, calibrate, troubleshoot various transmitters, transducers, meters, relays, switches, instruments, systems, devices
- Trouble shooting of electrical problems - switch gear, control panels, transformers, relays, motor starters, breakers, control wiring, ups systems, etc
- Maintenance of pneumatic and motor operated valves and actuators
- Read and understand various single line, 3 line, electrical, pneumatic, piping and instrumentation diagrams and drawings
Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent
- 4 years of power plant experience or equivalent environment - combined-cycle power plant experience preferred
- 2 years of combustion turbine experience or equivalent experience preferred
- 2 years formal training in electronics, instrumentation, engineering or a related technical discipline - 4 years industrial experience or 2 years military experience may be substituted for formal training
- Knowledge of power plant equipment to include DCS, turbine control, PLC, serial communications systems
- Knowledge of high voltage protective devices - working knowledge of voltages up to 500 kV
- Ability to utilize Emerson Ovation and GE MKVI control systems to diagnose and resolve plant and system level problems
- On call 24/7 - rotating shifts and weekends as needed
