Business Areas Description Prime Brokerage (PB) is the internal name of JP Morgan's Global cross-product prime brokerage business. Prime Brokerage is an applied technology business that will leverage the market leading capabilities of JPMC's internal processing platform. The PB business offers a cross-asset class service for Fixed Income, FX, F&O, Interest Rate and Credit Derivatives products in conjunction with cross entity on Risk, Margin, and Portfolio Accounting, supported by centralised client servicing and client facing capabilities. Job Description The Java Enterprise Developer will be a key member of the Prime Brokerage development team with initial focus in the Real Time Messaging area. Individual will be involved in the full project life cycle while working with project managers and business analysts to take requirements through design, implementation and delivery. Must have strong technical hands-on experience. Responsibilities · Extensive hands-on Java development using POJO and J2EE…including JMS, Servlets/JSP, JDBC, etc. · Application development dealing with Large Scale Distributed Systems. · Translating Business Requirements into system designs. · Hands on experience on coding, troubleshooting and application performance tuning. · Ability to balance strategic and tactical solutions. · In depth knowledge of applicable methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures. · Ability to collaborate with other internal technology teams to coordinate and deliver software systems. · Takes personal initiative; conscientiousness and complete follow-through on areas of responsibility Skills and Knowledge Required · self starter with confidence to drive issues through to completion in highly pressured matrix support environment · strong problem management and problem investigation skills with ability to learn new skills quickly to value add in problem focus areas · multi-disciplined technology skills encompassing some or all: o OS: Linux / Windows, with exposure to shell scripting (windows .bat) o GUI Systems: Experience with browser based GUI development a plus. o Database: Must have experience with an enterprise DB system…Sybase, Oracle, DB2. Experience with Oracle a plus. o Language/API/Tools: JAVA, POJO, J2EE, JMS, HTML, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, WebLogic, Spring, Struts, JSF etc. · Experience working in financial markets with knowledge in some or all PB supported product and Margin practices is a strong plus. · Minimum of 5+ years of in-depth Java development experience Core Java and J2EE. · Minimum of 5-7 years experience designing and implementing large scale distributed systems with Java or C++. · Minimum of 5 years of in-depth experience designing systems including the ability to document the designs utilizing UML or an equivalent methodology. · Experience as a developer for a mission critical enterprise system. · Experience in system architecture using J2EE technologies. · Practical experience with high volume data processing applications. · Must posses experience with version control systems such as ClearCase, and build tools such as Ant and Maven. · Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
