We have an opening for a WebSphere Portal Development in Dallas / Fort Worth, TX.   This is initially a 12 month contract opportunity that could go much longer.

Job Description:

This WebSphere Portal Developer will be responsible for developing and migrating the company’s external/internal facing portal and web applications to the IBM WebSphere Portal. The candidate will work with other Portal developers and Content Management teams under the guidance of the WebSphere Portal Lead.

·         Experience developing software applications in IBM WebSphere Portal

·         Experience developing JSR 168/286 Portlets, JSPs and Servlets, SOAP-based Web Services
(including REST API calls).

·         Proficiency with either IBM Portlet Factory or RAD tools.

·         Experience with database design, Use Cases, UML, HTML.

·         Proficiency with portal themes and skins.

·         Working knowledge on Web 2.0 patterns (Ajax, DHTML)

·         Experience with other java portal technology will be considered a plus, e.g., Oracle, BEA, Plumtree, Vignette, but not substitute for IBM WebSphere Portal experience.

·         Work with portal development team members throughout portal development process including customer needs analysis, functional and technical design requirements and application coding, testing, implementation and support using SDLC methodologies.

·         Web development experience using J2EE and XML technologies. Experience in framework components such as HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, Struts, Servlet, JSP, EJB, JMS, JNDI, LDAP, JDBC, XML, XSL, XSLT, SOAP, Web Services, WSDL

·         Experience with database programming, Stored Procedures.

·         Familiarity with WebSphere Portal Administration and WebSphere Application Server Administrations

·         Good analytical skills, ability to work well with others, handle multiple simultaneous assignments, ability to work with less supervision

·         Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills, organization skills

·         Excellent interpersonal/team building and project/time management skills
