  IN VIVO SCIENTIST

IN VIVO SCIENTIST:

  • Handling and dosing
  • Small animal surgery and tissue collection
  • Behavioral assays designed to assess potential of experimental compounds for treating: cardiovascular and metabolic, CNS OR infectious diseases
  • Ex vivo assays (ELISA, enzyme activity, hplc analysis)
  • Metabolism and physiology protocols
  • Electrophysiological methodologies (single unit recording, EEG, etc.)
  • Analytical techniques for assaying levels of pharmcodyanamic markers in tissue and biofluids
  • Computational biology, pathway mining, new target identification, biomarker identification
  • Neuroendocrinology
  • Brain biochemistry 
  • Neuroanatomical techniques
  • In vivo microdialysis

 

Requirements :

 

BS/BA in biology, pharmacology or related discipline. Desirable:  MS level biology/biochemistry, pharmacology  or related area of biological sciences. Prior Experience Preferred - 2+ years relevant experience with a firm background in pharmacology or behavioral sciences. Good communication, organizational, record keeping and computer literacy skills.
