A King
of Prussia based Fortune 500 global software services firm is
seeking an experienced IP Communications Architect to join their organization.
In order to respond, you
must possess certifications in Avaya, Cisco and/or Nortel Telephony Platforms
along with associated equipment. You will need to have a thorough
understanding of voice and data technologies as used in the enterprise network
(e.g., TCP/IP, routing and switching, physical transmission media) and have
demonstrated experience in IP communications design, deployment and operations.
You will interact with both
internal and external department members and will foster sound project
management skills and aide the Voice Technologies Department in accomplishing
business initiatives. This position
requires strong customer/client service and communications skills (written and
oral). The IP Communications Architect must exhibit solid judgment and
decision-making abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Openly embraces new
technologies & techniques in order to enable business agility and
effectiveness - Successfully design,
implement and deploy emerging technologies and offer the business new services
which make voice and unified communication more effective and productive. Examples include Voice over IP, IP
video-conferencing, Social Networking tools (wikis, discussion boards, etc.),
and mobile devices / applications - Continually seek out and
execute upon opportunities to gain efficiencies and reduce costs as it relates
to the communications environment - Demonstrate a proven ability
to design, implement and cost justify the deployment of an Enterprise IP
Unified Communications solution - Oversee the maintenance and
repair of new IPT infrastructure as well as large-scale PBX network of Northern
Telecom SL-1 Meridian PBX Network, peripheral voice equipment, Voice Mail, Call
Accounting, Paging System, and Meridian ACD platforms (Meridian Max and
Symposium)
Requirements:
- College Degree strongly
preferred - Thorough understanding of
voice and data technologies as used in the enterprise network (eg, TCP/IP,
routing and switching, physical transmission media) - Demonstrate experience in IP
communications design, deployment and operations - Must have excellent written
and verbal skills and the ability to implement sound customer service
techniques - Proficient project
management skills are required - Certifications in Avaya,
Cisco and Nortel Telephony Platforms along with associated equipment is preferred,
specifically: Avaya Modular Messaging, Avaya PBX (Definity 8000 series)
Symposium Scripting and Meridian Mail Applications. - Coordinate and assist with
moves, adds, and changes of hardware and software to PBX, Centrex and
associated equipment. (Experience with in-house wiring cables feeds as well as
outside plant wiring principals, is required.) - Must have strong
troubleshooting abilities - Good organizational, time
management, and service delivery skills is required
