SUMMARY OF WORK PERFORMED AND SPECIFIC DUTIES: (Include, but not limited to)
The IS Manager is responsible for the direction and management of the Information Systems Department. The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT professional with a broad range of disciplines including: hardware and networking, application & web programming, database design and administrative skills.
· Work with all levels of the organization focusing on customer satisfaction, uptime and quality of service.
· Serves as technology strategist, translating business requirements into technical requirements.
· Provides planning, leadership, direction, training, and advanced technical expertise regarding development, network and database management.
· Serves as a technical point of contact for IT vendor relationships.
· Works with internal development teams to prepare test plans, test data, performs tests and documents results.
· Proactive management of technical systems to ensure commitment to meeting all business needs.
· Capable of supporting desktop and network hardware (switches, routers, etc).
· Works with other departments and end users to troubleshoot and/or resolve code issues and application availability and performance problems during business hours and on a 24x7 on-call basis.
· Develops and documents operational procedures for supported systems, including implementation processes, troubleshooting and support procedures.
· Travel may be required from time to time to support new and existing remote locations.
· Must be available by phone 24x7 and available to work weekends when necessary.
· Reports status of projects and assignments to Executive Management on a regular basis.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED OR DESIRABLE:
· Solid foundation of programming and networking fundamentals.
· Prior Programming Experience Preferred: VB.NET, ASP.NET, VB6, ASP, C/AL
· Knowledge of SQL, TSQL, XML, HTML, CSS and Javascript
· Experience in Web Services, EDI or other integration capabilities preferred.
· Operating System Experience: Windows 2000, XP, Windows Server 2000, 2003.
· MS SQL Server (2000 & 2005)
a. Basic database administration skills required
b. Advanced troubleshooting, server & query optimization skills preferred.
· Experience with Microsoft Navision, Microsoft Retail Management System preferred.
· Must stay current with emerging IT technologies that may provide increased efficiencies or cost savings · Prefer minimum of bachelors degree.
· Any combination of the following certifications preferred: MCP, MCTS, MCPD, MCAD, MCSA or CompTia Security+. If hired without certifications, one must be obtained within 6 months of acceptance of position.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with end users and management.
· Must be detail orientated and able to multi-task.
· Must be flexible to changing work requirements. Sudden shift to long hours due to major system upgrades, new location setup, etc.
· Must be a self starter and able to work with little supervision.
· Enthusiastically performs all duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to concentrate while working in a busy environment
· Able to sit and work on a computer for extended periods of time.
