Job Description
The IT Administrator is responsible for the day to day upkeep of corporate business systems through monitoring performance metrics, maintaining servers and software, updating servers and software, and supporting technical incidences as well as establishing user management standards. The IT Administrator will support ERP, VMWare, Attendance Enterprise and Unix systems.

Indepth understanding of varied operating systems administration in a dynamic environment including Micorsoft, VMWare and Unix servers. Knowledge of Microsoft Directory Services, various Operating Systems Security and Storage concepts. Ability to work under deadlines with little supervision. Ability to communicate complex technical issues to management and other IT staff. Able to adapt in a rapidly changing environment. Research future technologies and relate them to the current business. Ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills and Background
* A degree in computer science or a related field with 5 years system administration experience
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing purchase justifications, training users in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management.
* Independent problem-solving, self-direction.
* Comfortable with most aspects of operating system administration; for example, system installation and configuration, printer setups, fundamentals of security, installation of third-party software.
* Has a solid understanding of a UNIX-based operating system.
* Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (ksh, Perl, VBScript)
Technical Background and Skills
Some Oracle DBA experience - Oracle databases in Unix environment
EMC
VM Ware
Veritas Volume Manager / Filesystem
Microsoft Operating Systems
Disaster recovery implementation experience
Knowledge in NT & UNIX integration
Sun Solaris 8/9 Workgroup and Enterprise
AIX 5.3, LPAR, HACMP
Red Hat Linux
