Role Summary/Purpose
The Application Architect serves as a technical expert responsible for design and implementation of Oracle ERP applications. In this role you will design platforms that integrate corporate, central, distributed and client server systems to maximize utility /minimize cost. You will also develop technical standards, provide resolution of complex system issues, and ensure that plans for system technologies integrate effectively with multiple application and enterprise layers of hardware / software.
Essential Responsibilities
· Effectively engage global teams and experts to create and propose technology designs, standards, and solutions with high impact to business and/or its customers · Develop and maintain relationships with key strategic vendors and peers · Interpret, modify or produce documented IT application frameworks or architectures · Evaluate and recommends new or enhanced technologies that could improve current IT systems · Research development in assigned technology, validate business requirements, proposes changes, develop migration and implementation plans, and may execute projects based on these activities · Advise project teams on technology implementation · Provide input into the technology plan for the IT organization, and ensure that plans for their assigned applications integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure · Advise on application and supporting technology purchases and on future projects or IT environment upgrades / modifications · Proactively monitor business needs and translate into technology application opportunities · Evaluate emerging technologies for applicability to business · Continuously strengthen own technical expertise; Teach and mentor others to develop their technical expertise
Qualifications/Requirements

Desired Characteristics
· Proficient using PL / SQL, Oracle Forms, Reports, XML Publisher, OAF, J2EE, OC4J, ADF, JSF, ADF faces and JDeveloper 10g, Object Oriented Design· Experience with Oracle HR or other HRMS, a strong plus· Experience with edits, personalization, user hooks and other Oracle methods & configuration techniques· Experience reshaping / rebuilding numerous legacy applications to integrate within a Service Oriented Architecture, leveraging web services, enterprise service bus (ESB), business rules engine (BRE), business process mgmt (ex: BPEL)· Experience with Structured and Object-Oriented Software Development Methodologies including Requirements Analysis, Object Orient Analysis, Process and Data Modeling, Logical and Physical system design· Experience in designing and developing web services that allow 'real-time' integration with Oracle EBS· Experience with rules based access control; role based security· Experience with ETL tools, such Informatica as well as Oracle Concurrent Manager· Experience with software and Infrastructure Change Management, Release Management, and Source Code Configuration Control· Six Sigma / LEAN certified· Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities· Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources· Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships and creates processes with customer viewpoint· Strong analytical skills – strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve· Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change, and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways
