IT Manager - Engineering Applications

Our client, a world class manufacturer in the heavy equipment sector seeking an IT Engineering Applications Manager. The successful candidate will manage and maintain the organization’s repository of engineering applications and systems through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. Plan and coordinate the processes required for the provision of engineering applications and systems necessary to support business unit operations. Apply communication and problem-solving skills to actively assist the business unit management team on issues related to the design, development, deployment and operation of mission-critical information and software systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance and security of all engineering application systems.
· Responsible for proposal and contract preparation, cost/benefit analysis, system analysis and design programming and implementation activities for new engineering application initiatives.
· Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans and allocation of resources.
· Consult with management and review proposals to determine goals, time frames, funding, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of resources.
· Formulate and define technical scope and objectives of engineering applications.
· Establish standards and procedures for reporting and documentation as it relates to business applications.
· Manage and negotiate non-enterprise vendor software contracts and license agreements, with director approval.
· Prepare status report and keep management, client and others informed of development status and related issues.
· Ensure all application related activities comply with the global compliance standards and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Demonstrate managerial and development experience related to PLM systems and CAD applications.
· Experience with the following application is highly preferred: Teamcenter Unified, Teamcenter Manufacturing, Solid Edge, and E3 Electrical CAD.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related discipline or equivalent.
· Must have a minimum of three years of overall experience in managing, administering, supporting and monitoring business applications.
· Must have a minimum of seven years of demonstrated development or application experience.
