Process Specialist
Location: Rosslyn, VA
Duration: 6 months +

Assists in the development of processes and procedures to interface the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team with ITM System Engineering Modeling and Simulation (M&S) team for Capacity and Performance Management. In addition, this resource will identify the roles & responsibilities necessary to support the new process and procedure, implement the processes and procedure, and train resources impacted by the new processes/procedures. Works with the M&S / O&M Integration Lead.
Work with O&M and ITM System Engineering (SE) leads to assess current capabilities and identify high-level requirements.
Identify and define the process and procedures, based on best practices, to effectively interface the teams’ capabilities including specification of enhancements to existing processes as necessary.
Identify and define roles & responsibilities to support the defined process and procedures.
Work with the O&M and ITM SE Leads to develop plan for and oversee implementation.
Work with the Operations Lead to define the performance goals and metrics for the proposed solution.
Review prototypes, solution blueprints, and project scope to ensure that the needs of the business are being met.
Work with IT Operations Architects to ensure that the developed and deployed capabilities align with the business architecture and meet performance goals.
Assist in translating requirements into business processes supporting existing or new business capabilities.
Inform the Operations Lead of any issues that may affect any other project areas.
Participate in quality management reviews to ensure adherence to all quality management plans and standards.
Anticipate issues proactively and escalate to Team Lead as appropriate.
Maintain awareness of new developments in industry and processes. Continuously develop this knowledge and associated skills by implementing concepts appropriately.
Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement and participate on improvement teams.
Monitor and support the team’s adherence to the established policies, processes, and procedures.
Monitor and ensure team’s process and configuration documentation is up to date.
Requirements:
US Citizenship with a clearable background and ability to hold a public trust position
ITIL Foundation Certification
Understanding of IT Capacity and Performance Management concepts
Demonstrated business and process analyst work experience
Strong client interaction skills including interviewing and leading stakeholder reviews
2+ years of experience with ITIL process framework, especially with Capacity Management concepts.
1+ year(s) of defining and implementing business process engineering work experience.
MS Office, MS Project skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of IT Operations & Maintenance and Process Engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
