IT Project Manager
Description: Provides overall direction and management for one or more medium to large sized IT projects. Working with customers and IT management, develops proposal, detailed specifications, test plans, security requirements, cost estimates, and resource requirements. Implements project requirements through purchased software and/or internally developed software solutions to meet customer requirements. Works closely with Business Process Owners in defining and implementing applications based on Business Process Improvements. Provides work direction and leadership to project or resource teams. Accountable for the quality and delivery of project commitments on schedule, within prescribed resource limits (including financial), and in accordance with client requirements and departmental standards.
Functional Expertise:
Develops project plans including technical solution design, implementation methodology, migration planning, risk mitigation strategy, success criteria, milestones, budgets and resources to achieve project initiatives. Mobilizes resources as necessary to support the project.
Ensures project goals are met in a timely and cost effective manner. Manages project activity and keeps senior IT staff informed of project progress. Utilizes Project Management tools and methodologies.
Ensures that all systems delivered are in compliance with established policies and baselines.
Applies change management techniques with regard to systems and applications.
Manages project budgets to approved levels. Recommends project budget changes based on business needs/condition and customer requirements.
Identifies opportunities for maximizing the value-added impact of the project.
Manages vendor relations as necessary including Request for Proposals, Request for Quotation, and project deliverables.
Broad based background in IT technology, systems analysis and business applications.
Demonstrated expertise in project management and SLA/Customer management.
Qualifications: Bachelors in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related experience.
At least 8 years of related experience, with at least 3 years in an IT Lead position.
Must have 3-7 years of experience with Microsoft Project Server and SharePoint (Microsoft Office SharePoint Services - MOSS, not Windows SharePoint Services - WSS) software.
Experience with Microsoft Portfolio Server a plus.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SRS) or similar tool a plus.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) or similar tool a plus.
