Description: IT Project Manager will be expected to plan, execute and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.  This includes securing resource time and coordinating the efforts of team members and third party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. Define project objectives and oversee quality control through the development life cycle. Manage project budgets and invoicing with vendors and 3^rd party contractors. Track and report expenses to make sure all purchases remain within the approved budgets.

Responsibilities:         

Project /Practice Management

• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
• Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to stakeholders.
• Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
• Minimizes exposure and risk on project.
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
• Manages the process of innovative change effectively.
• Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
• Manages day-to-day IT/business interaction.
• Sets and manages business expectations.
• Develops lasting relationships with business personnel that foster strong ties.
• Communicates effectively with business and vendors to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.

Project Accounting

• Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
• Manages project budget.
• Ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
• Follows up, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
• Analyzes project ROI and utilization.

Skills/Education:         

• Specific software experience with ORACLE, ideally with Oracle Retek retail systems.
• 5 years or more experience in IT project management. 
• Experience with at least one project management methodology a plus.
• Experience in at least one large enterprise deployment a plus.
• Experience in an off-shore model a plus.
• PMI or similar certification a plus.
• Retail or distribution environment preferred.
• BS degree desired.
