IT Solutions Intern

This is a TEMPORARY
FULL-TIME (40 hrs/week) position with a possibility of being converted to regular
full-time position.

LCG Inc is an
information technology, grants management and communications consulting
services firm with government, non-profit and private sector customers.

Our company seeks an Intern for the IT Solutions Department to
provide support to internal department staff and external users as needed. The IT
Intern will interact directly with internal users and assist them on various IT
projects and other tasks as requested by the Project Manager of the respective
project.  Candidate will have strong
analytical and organizational skills in order to understand support requests
and be able to effectively communicate, track and meet delivery deadlines. An
ability to quickly learn custom web-based software is required. This position
is based out of our Arlington, Virginia (metro accessible) location.

Responsibilities:

Assist with various IT department tasks as
assigned by the managers including but not limited to:

• Collect and research specific client
  requirements for projects and/or production support efforts

Assist
with pre-release testing on custom systems; including development of test plans
and test cases.

·        
Track
user issues as well as their timely resolution;

·        
Provide
support for multiple production applications and escalate issues where needed;

·        
Proactively
research the issues and help with troubleshooting methods to quickly diagnose
and resolve problems wherever possible;

·        
Provide
up to date reporting to senior management on a timely basis.

Requirements:

·        
0-2
years experience in an IT consulting or IT Application Development environment.

·        
Understanding
of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles and various industry
standard software development methodologies.

·        
Strong
analytical and problem solving skills.

·        
Excellent
verbal and written communication skills.

·        
Excellent
time-management skills; ability to meet multiple deadlines at once.

·        
The
ability to break a process into logical steps for testing and training;
excellent organization skills; the aptitude for learning new software
programs.

• Microsoft Office Suite (Access,
  Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

·        
Familiarity
with MS Visio and MS Project a plus.

·        
College
degree not required but a degree in MIS or a similar concentration will be a major
plus.
