Position Description
Perform all help desk related tasks, to include: taking calls and follow-up tasks. Monitor the status of problems and technical issues so that they are resolved in a timely manner. Ensure that the help desk documentation is kept current. Provide hardware support in 600 PC retail environment; including replacing failed parts such as RAM chips, hard drives, and power supplies. Provide software support on our Point of Sale software and normal PC software such as updates, virus protection, MS Office 2003 and 2010, MS Windows XP and 7, and remote software. Work with the Network Administrator to resolve network, phone system, and Windows 2003 and 2008 server problems.
Responsible for screening, referring and diagnosing internal or external inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers and related systems. May assist in performing minor troubleshooting in the identification of applicable problems relating to PCs, applications software and basic network communications. Support of a 24 hour (evening & weekend) help desk is required on a rotating basis. Travel to offsite locations may be required on a limited basis.

Bachelor’s degree in computer related field or other technical degree preferred
3-5 years professional experience

Strong skills in customer service and customer relations. Must have good verbal and written communications skills. Should possess good logic and communication skills as well as the ability to grasp technical computer skills, problem diagnosing and documentation writing. Must be able to communicate and work effectively with our IT support staff. Experience in providing customer support and help desk services is required.
