IT Support Engineer I

About the Job

This position is responsible for providing support to users of the company's computer network and telephone systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for level-1 IT Helpdesk support through the support call center.

  • Engineers will take calls, enter issues into the helpdesk tracking system and will attempt to solve the problem on first contact.  If problem can't be solved, the engineer will pass the call to a level-2 engineer.

  • Issues may involve support for desktops/laptops, operating systems, servers, applications and remote access systems.

  • Responsible for resetting user passwords and voicemail accounts.

  • Responsible for monitoring server and application systems and responding to alerts as needed.

  • Resolves issues in a timely manner and enters resolution into the helpdesk tracking system as needed.

  • Responsible for set up of new users on the network.  He/she determines access, establishes passwords and new user accounts as required.  The incumbent provides similar services when a user transfers to a new department.  He/she also disables accounts when a user terminates employment. 
  • Participates in rotational, on-call Support Roles providing remote and onsite support after hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

      QUALIFICATIONS: 

      Education:  Position requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, A+ computer certification and MCP certification or its equivalent. 

      Experience:  Requires a minimum of two years network support experience or its equivalent. 

      Skills, knowledge, and qualifications:

      • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and desktop systems and servers. 
      • Must be customer service oriented and have exceptional verbal communication skills. 
      • Must be able to travel to local jobsites.

      • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 
      • Must have strong communication skills, be able to work independently and be team oriented.

      • Must be flexible with schedule. 

      PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

      • Assigned duties are accomplished primarily in an office setting where walking, sitting, bending, reaching, talking, hearing and good vision is required. Must be able to crawl under desks. Must be able to travel to local jobsites. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. 

       

       

      This position may require registration with the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and/or other gaming jurisdictions in which we operate.
