Job Description:
Reporting directly to East Division Director, this position is responsible for support on computer hardware to East Division users in terms of applications, new purchases, and system integrity to maximize company productivity and use of computer resources.
Assist with the coordination of upgrades and new installs to maintain proper synchronization with other corporate systems. Upgrades and installs new hardware, cabling terminals adhering to corporate policies and guidelines. Assist with the maintenance for local hardware. Ensure local operations, following proper procedures for repair and maintenance. Provide assistance and direction for the systematic replacement of aging equipment and make recommendations for future requirements to support local planning.
Personal training and education necessary to support position and keep abreast of new trends and emerging technologies in the PC/Networking industry. Document cable and network schemes. Maintain documentation and procedures as needed for corporate I.S. Provides individual/departmental training as needed and training users formally on request or as required to ensure effective systems,and researches and maintains up-to-date knowledge regarding software to enhance gsf processes and profitability.
Performs special projects related to the following areas: 1) IS Specialized Training and Assessment, 2) Research and Development of Technology Advancement, and 3) Specialized Departmental projects.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in IT or business required. 5-7 years of experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment is also required.
Start up of new business operations experience is critical along with a willingness to travel out of state (including air travel) up to 50% of time and then 25% after start ups to support multi-center locations. Experience with food or allied products storage and shipment a plus.
Position requires hands on applications and extensive interaction with internal customers. High level knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Server 2003, Microsoft Product Suite (Office, Visio, Project, etc.) and Networking essential. Knowledge of Louts Notes, Mitel Phone System, JDE, AS400, Citrix and Ricoh/Cannon/HP Printer Setup experience a plus.
This position will be required to work some Holidays due to food distribution business.
