Job Description:

Mellanox Technologies is looking for an enthusiastic IT support specialist to join our team in Sunnyvale.  The ideal individual will be responsible for maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting and repairing computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals in production and lab environments.  The IT support specialist will be responsible to document, maintain, upgrade and replace hardware and software.  This position includes building, installing and configuring laptops and servers, and working with end-users to troubleshoot and resolve desktop and access issues locally and remotely.

Requirements:

Education

·          B.S. in computer sciences or related fields

Knowledge

•     Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems

•     Basic server, PC, and laptop hardware troubleshooting skills

•     Basic Linux and Windows troubleshooting skills

•     Basic application level knowledge on multiple platforms

Skills

•     Network fundamentals:  Network routing, TCP/IP, network troubleshooting

•     Proficient with dual/triple boot installations

•     Proficient with creating and editing system images

•     Ability to compile Linux applications

•     Ability to install/compile device drivers in both Windows and Linux

•     Ability to work independently and efficiently

•     Ability to find solutions on own initiative

•     Ability to do wire management on server cabinets

•     Ability to keep working areas as well as labs neat and presentable at all times

Experience

•     2+ years hands-on quickly troubleshooting common PC issues

•     2+ years hands-on technical experience with various Linux installations

•     2+ years hands-on technical experience with Windows XP/Vista/2003

•     Experience with Veritas BackupExec and tape library a plus

•     A keen interest in cutting-edge computer technology a plus
